The problem is that you see this all the time. Look at children and their imagination. What about MMOs, RPGs, and D&D? Aren't they all forms of escapism to something better than what we currently have? What if all those things could be made real? People would start living it as their daily lives to get away from what's causing them stress, which could eventually lead them down a path of mental instability when what they thought was real was all an elaborate prank from something incorporeal.
