I've blogged extensively about the connections between the UFO phenomenon and folkloric accounts of fairies and spirits. I've also written a little bit about some government conspiracy theories. Now, taking a turn toward unifying all of this strangeness, I present this article that I very much enjoyed reading:
Behind the Mask: Aliens or Cosmic Jokers?
Hopefully you'll all find it as intriguing and interesting as I did. All of this talk of the Nine is new to me which just goes to show that no matter how much you think you've heard of, there's always something else out there.

The Devil's Hole and the Story of Mel Waters
Mel Waters and the Devil’s Holes
The story of Mel Waters and his mystery holes is a modern legend. (Go on and get the snickers out now because there are lots of funny phrases in that link). This story has all kinds of bizarre elements that flow together in a way that makes you want to believe this story whether it's true or not. It also ties together everything from UFOs to government conspiracies to spiritual experience brought about by bizarre creatures. If this is a total fabrication then it's as engaging as any fiction I've read.
There's really not much to be said about the story that you can't get from just reading it. It's fascinating and really does make one wonder if holes like this exist in isolated places on the planet. Are they alien constructs from the distant past? Geographic features as old as the earth itself? Where do the holes go and why do they have such bizarre properties? It's very fun to think about.
So regardless of whether you believe Mel Waters' story or not I do think it is worth the read. It's as good as any science fiction you'll find and it does a good enough job of blending the fantastic with the mundane that there is still a part of you that wonders "Could this have really happened?" It's almost enough to make someone want to go looking for odd spots on Google Earth in an attempt to find the Devil's Hole(s).
Enjoy the tale and let me know what you think about it.

The Lizard Man of South Carolina
Searching the Web for "lizard man" will most likely give you The Lizardman, a sideshow performer, or it will give you the Lizard Man, a humanoid cryptid that seems to have resurfaced recently.
The cryptid in question is described as being seven feet tall with scaly skin, glowing red eyes, and three fingers on each hand. Alleged footprints are three-toed. Without going too deeply into the back story (which is explained by the link above) I can't help but see the resemblance to the reptilian humanoids or the Reptilians that pop up a lot in conspiracy theories and UFO lore. As it happens, lizard people pop up rather often in regards to the paranormal as can be seen by this search on paranormal.about.com.
I can't help but find myself wondering if the Lizard Man might be an extraterrestrial or an extradimensional, assuming it's not a hoax or misidentification. Considering how it likes to maul automobiles, the only thing that it could be besides an actual seven-foot-tall lizard would be a bear. I'm not really sure how someone could misidentify a bear to such a degree but I suppose anything is possible in the dark.
If this is a bear, I suppose one would also have to ask why it likes to destroy automobile fenders. Bears and other animals have been known to break into cars to get at some food that's inside, but I'm not sure why a bear would bite through the chrome bumpers or other outlying metal parts of a car. It just seems exceptionally odd to me. Even in the case of a Lizard Man biting the cars it's still very odd.
A humorous bit of speculation I have to offer is that perhaps this Lizard Man is a stranded alien and it is attacking cars in the hopes of salvaging material to repair whatever it used to get here in the first place. Not understanding Earth technology, all it manages to do is result in repair bills and scary stories for the people that encounter it. So then it sulks off, homesick, waiting to try again another night or perhaps hoping that someone will send a damn rescue mission. This is the stuff of science fiction, but if there really is a Lizard Man running around South Carolina and attacking cars in incidents decades apart then why else would it be doing it? I suppose the creature could just not like cars.
Anyway, here's a recent article from the Huffington Post that suggests the Lizard Man may be back:
Lizard Man Reportedly Mauls And Bites Through South Carolina Couple's Car

Are mind control devices being tested on TV hosts?
Are U.S. government microwave mind-control tests causing TV presenters' brains to melt down?
The ability to use microwaves to cause human beings to hear things inside their heads was established as a real phenomenon in the 1970s. Has that technology progressed over the last few decades to allow for remote mind control? I did find a somewhat disturbing patent while doing a little research: Apparatus and method for remotely monitoring and altering brain waves.
I can't say if devices similar to that are being used to mess with TV presenters but it seems that the concept is not that fantastical. Conspiracy theorists and people that claim to be survivors of mind control have been saying that the government has mind control capabilities for years. MKULTRA is perhaps the best known program set up to explore the possibility of mind control. Project Monarch is alleged to be a program within MKULTRA.
I think that the possibility of mind control has to be considered, but more interesting to me is why this technology would be focused on TV personalities. Perhaps it's being tested for field operation on live television? What purpose could the government have for such a capability? I think it would be useful for a government to have absolute control over TV hosts and newscasters or, barring that, have the ability to cut their reports or presentations short. This would be censorship and control on a level that has never been seen before.

Lights Over Colorado and Radioactive Rain in Massachusetts
Triangular formations of light are really nothing new in the world of UFOs. There's a recent case that seems to fit this pattern very well.
UFO Sighting North of Denver, Resident Films Mysterious Red Lights
My first impression is that this is another one of those videos that shows some strange lights against a black background and doesn't give a lot of points of reference. Is it the real deal? Maybe. If it is then I think it fits more with the descriptions of the alleged TR-3B experimental craft. I think that this will likely go down as yet another case that never has a satisfactory explanation.
In other news: Radioactive rain in Massachusetts. This isn't exactly paranormal, but I'm beginning to wonder if we're being told everything about the dangers of the nuclear disaster taking place in Japan. The initial scare made potassium iodide a rare and valuable commodity and we were being told everything was fine. I can't imagine what would happen if the authorities were to come out and say that things weren't okay. As always, I'm an advocate for being prepared for any disaster whether it's natural or man-made.

The dead bird situation keeps getting strange.
UFO strikes. A military death ray. Or the coming of Armageddon. Why ARE thousands of birds falling from the sky?
I think that this article gives a pretty good summary of the situation as it stands currently. I really don't have anything more to say about it right now except that I hope we get some definitive answers soon. The thought did occur to me that the shifting of the magnetic north pole might have something to do with all of this. More on that here.

The dead birds are still a mystery and more have joined them.
Dead birds falling from sky still mystify experts
Scientists still don't know what caused the birds to fall from the sky in Arkansas. On top of that, there were more birds to fall from the sky in Louisiana and reports of birds falling in Kentucky. There was also a mass fish die-off about 100 miles from the first fall of birds in Arkansas.
None of these things are really that unique as both have happened before. Perhaps what makes this trend so startling is the short span of time between events. I've seen some speculation that the government may be experimenting with something but I'm not so sure. Something occurred to me while I was reviewing the new information though. What if all of this is somehow related to activity within the earth?
Looking at recent seismic activity in the region, I couldn't help but wonder if maybe earthquakes or other activity within the earth were affecting the birds (and potentially the fish). Perhaps more profound is the thought that perhaps these anomalies with the animals may be giving us warning of something to come. Maybe the New Madrid Fault is getting ready to let loose? It is a scary thing to consider, but it may be worth looking into.
This map shows recent seismic activity in the region. If you zoom in on the activity in Arkansas you can see that there have been a lot of small quakes very close together just in the past week. There was a larger quake near Kokomo, Indiana and a small one in southern Missouri as well. I am not a geologist and I don't know how common these events are, but combined with the strangeness happening with the birds it has me worried.
This is the Wikipedia article on the New Madrid Seismic Zone. According to the article, the New Madrid Fault produced four of the largest North American quakes ever recorded, all within three months time. I only hope that this recent series of quakes combined with the series of anomalous animal die-offs is not leading up to a repeat of the 1811-1812 quakes.
Seismic activity could be releasing gasses (such as methane) into the air and water and that could explain the mysterious bird and fish die-offs. If that was the case though, wouldn't the scientists testing the air have detected it? To my knowledge, there is no evidence that earth gasses killed the birds. Perhaps it was some other unknown aspect of the seismic activity?
Then again, the conspiracy theorists could be right; there may be something more sinister going on. If there is a covert experiment being done then maybe it is related to all of these anomalies, including the earthquakes. Maybe it's related to HAARP. This could still portend something potentially a lot worse that's in store for us, but only time will tell.

Tin foil hats probably don't protect you from mind control waves.
Conspiracy theorists all over the world are familiar with the tin foil hat, whether they use them or are teased with references to them. As it turns out, tin (or more accurately aluminum) foil hats and helmets may actually amplify the frequencies fingered as suspect for beaming mind control right into your head.
The idea seems sound at first glance, appearing to work like a Faraday cage for the brain. The problem is that this headgear does not entirely enclose the head and thus sets up a situation for signals to actually be reflected and amplified by the foil. The helmets actually amplify frequencies that coincide with those allotted to the US government for GPS and other satellite communications. They also amplify frequencies reserved for mobile phones. This information comes from folks at MIT that actually tested it.
On the Effectiveness of Aluminium Foil Helmets: An Empirical Study
The message seems to be that if you are a believer in tin foil hats then you should work on new designs to account for these findings. Perhaps a more paranoid assessment would be that the government and the multinational corporations actually want you to wear these hats as they actually make it easier for them to beam radio waves into your head.

What's under Denver International Airport?
Much has been written about the strangeness surrounding the Denver International Airport so I'm not going to go into that. Instead I'll provide a link to an article on the Mystery Surrounding Denver International Airport. No, in this post I'm going to give my ideas on what I think could be underneath DIA.
I think that there's something strange underneath the airport and I think that it is perhaps a continuity of government facility. In the event of catastrophe, the top members of the United States government would be moved to a COG facility in order to maintain some government in the face of disaster. COG facilities aren't that unusual in themselves, but all of the New World Order imagery in the above airport makes it seem a little more sinister.
I think that the airport was built where it was built because of it's relative remoteness to Denver, or anything else for that matter. In a widespread disaster, the government officials (or the NWO, Illuminati, etc.) could fly into DIA from anywhere in the world and then go immediately to the bunkers deep below. I've also heard that Denver (and Colorado for that matter) sits on a very resilient portion of the Earth's crust. The airport (or rather, the facility beneath it) is thus isolated and stable, protecting it from man-made as well as natural disasters.
I do not think that it is a secret research facility. My reasoning for this is that there are too many civilians buzzing around the place all the time. Having an international airport makes sense if you have survival bunkers underneath, but it really would serve no purpose for a secret research facility other than to perhaps hide it in plain sight. If that's the case though, why bother building the airport at all? Everything is already hidden underground. All of the imagery and the peculiar circumstances surrounding the construction have only served to bring more scrutiny upon DIA as well.
I think the bigger question here is why build the facility at all? There are perfectly good COG facilities already in existence. Why the need to build a new one under such strange circumstances and in that particular location? Does the government (or the New World Order) know something about the future that we don't? Something to think about.

It doesn't look good when the government has a website for debunking conspiracy theories.
Conspiracy Theories and Misinformation - America.gov
The fact that the government has a website devoted to debunking conspiracy theories only proves the conspiracy, right? No doubt there are many conspiracy theories that don't have a leg to stand on, but there are a few that persist precisely because there is reason to be suspicious of what's going on. It should be noted that even if there is no conspiracy, the act of debunking it makes it look like there's something to hide.
There is also plenty of reason for not being very trusting when one considers what the government has done in the past. Project MKULTRA and the Tuskegee experiment are just a couple of examples. It really does make one wonder what "they" could be up to right now that we won't find out about for decades, or ever.
Merely labeling something as a "conspiracy theory" has the effect of discrediting it these days. There is probably a reason for that lack of being taken seriously though. I've noticed that a lot of conspiracy theorists don't apply enough critical thinking to what they're saying and many rely on vague connections to support their arguments. All of this only helps "them" stay out of the light, assuming that "they" even exist in the first place. The truthers now perpetuate any conspiracy that may exist through the act of drawing attention to it. Ironic, huh?

The Hollow Earth
The notion that the Earth is hollow or contains a vast subterranean space is not something you hear about much in the modern era. Everything we think we know about the way things work seems to speak against the notion of the Hollow Earth Hypothesis. Still, this idea has inspired much fiction and my understanding is that to this day people still plan expeditions to the Hollow Earth.
Folklore and mythology from all over the world speaks of realms below the earth containing creatures and beings that seem rather strange to us modern secular surface-dwellers. It is not known by many that there are vast cave and tunnel systems running underneath large areas of the planet. Some of these are man-made tunnels and others are natural caves. These systems are huge and, to my knowledge, mostly unexplored.
It is thought by some that the poles of the Earth are actually lipped holes that lead to the hollow interior of our planet. Strange phenomena reported by early polar explorers are cited in support of this idea as well as some modern physical anomalies. Some feel that the interior of the Earth is a more likely place for UFOs to come from than outer space. The Hollow Earth also provides an explanation for why some cryptids are only occasionally sighted and cannot be found. If Big Foot is returning to an underground habitat then it makes perfect sense that no amount of surface exploration would lead to its discovery. There is also an apparent link between faults in the Earth's crust and mysterious creatures and strange lights.
I am no stranger to the rumors of extraterrestrial underground bases and it seems that this could tie into the idea of the Hollow Earth as well. The idea that a reptilian race of advanced creatures lives beneath the surface of the planet is a staple of UFO/alien folklore and some have even claimed to have made contact with these creatures, usually seen as malevolent entities. Whether these reptilians are extraterrestrials taking up residence or an older race native to Earth is not something that anyone seems to be able to say for sure. I find the entire idea of the Hollow Earth to be fascinating and I'm apparently not alone.
As to whether the Earth is actually hollow or not... That's not something I can say. The scientific establishment says that it's not possible; we know the structure of the Earth and how it was formed. Yet still the idea of a Hollow Earth continues to survive to the present. I can see why given the revelation that real-time weather satellite data above the 60th parallel is not available to the public, or so I'm told. If you would like to read more about the Hollow Earth then please see the links below. If you have any further information regarding the Hollow Earth then please leave a comment.
